Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun. It is also by far the largest. Jupiter's mass is 318 times that of Earth's. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 483 million miles (5.2 AU). It has a diameter of 88,846 miles when measured at the equator and a mass of 1.8e27kg. Jupiter is named after the mythological god who was king of all of the other gods. Jupiter has been known since prehistoric times. Jupiter has been visited by Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, Voyager 2 and Ulysses. Jupiter is composed of about 90% hydrogen and 10% helium.
