TI DooM is loaded

The game is now in the calculator's memory. To start it, press PRGM, choose TIDOOM and press ENTER twice, or press Play now.

Speed is set to REALISTIC (MODE screen) so the game runs as fast as on a real calculator; at FAST the monsters attack far too quickly.

Controls: arrows move and turn (hold ▲ to run) · 2ND shoot · ALPHA open doors and exits · MODE map · Y=, WINDOW, ZOOM pick a weapon · CLEAR quit. On a keyboard, Tab is 2ND and Alt is ALPHA.

TI DooM v1.3 for the TI-83 Plus, written in TI-BASIC by Guiral Ferrieu (Brain Software), 2002. Author's readme · Download TIDOOM.8XG for a real calculator. DOOM is a trademark of id Software; this is an independent fan game.

About this simulator

This is a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition simulator: an independent, from-scratch reimplementation of the calculator's operating system, written in TypeScript to run in a web browser.

It is not an emulator. An emulator runs the calculator's original ROM on a model of its processor; this simulator instead recreates how TI-OS behaves (its screens, menus, math, graphing and TI-BASIC) in its own code.

It contains no Texas Instruments software: no ROM image, no operating-system code, and no code that was copied, disassembled or decompiled from a TI product. The calculator's behavior was recreated from the publicly available TI-84 Plus guidebook and documented calculator behavior.

The calculator image is a photograph of a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. Program and variable files use the publicly documented .8xp/.8xl/.8xm formats so they work with real calculators.
